Cholesterol and DBCO functionalized polyethylene glycol, DBCO PEG Cholesterol is a reactive, lipophilic cholesterol PEG that can be used to react with azide groups in aqueous solution through so called copper free Click chemistry. Cholesterol DBCO PEG conjugate have good water solubility and excellent reactivity. PEG cholesterol derivatives can be used to make liposome to improve circulation time for encapsulated drugs. They may also be used for non-viral transfection reagents.
