Description:

Silane PEG Azide (Silane-PEG-N3) is one of Nanocs's bifunctional PEG derivatives that can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials. Azide group can react with alkyne (so called Click Chemistry) in aqueous solution catalyzed by copper or directly react with cyclic alkyne, such as DBCO without need any catalyst. It can also be reduced into amine group easily while another functional group can be react with other molecules or functional groups. Silane group, on the other hand, can easily react to silica or glass surfaces to form a stable silane oxide bond. PEGylation can increase solubility and stability and reduce immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can also suppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surfaces.
