Biotin C12 biotin is a bifunctional biotin reagent that has a long carbon chain between two biotin molecules. This bifunctional biotin reagent can be used for biotin labeling by binding one biotin molecule to avidin or streptavidin substrate.

  • Biotinylation– label molecules and surfaces for assay or affinity purification methods involving avidin or streptavidin probes and resins
  • Cell surface labeling– biotin can be crosslinked to proteins and material surfaces using avidin or streptavin
