DFO (Deferoxamine) PEG Maleimide is one of Nanocs' metal chelating PEG reagents that have specific thiol reactivity under neutral pH. DFO, also known as Deferoxamine or  desferrioxamine, is a commonly used iron (Fe) chelator. Maleimide functionalized DFO PEG enables specific conjugation of DFO chelator to cysteine residues via Maleimide-thiol reation. Reaction between maleimide and thiol proceeds quickly and efficiently at pH 6.5-7.5. PEG linker between DFO and maleimide offers better water solubility, flexible linker structure and enhanced stability.
